For over 30 years Kennan has been living and breathing adventure photography! He rises eagerly each day, before the sun, anticipating amazing light and creativity! There have been many highlights. A lasting mentorship with master nature photographer Pat O'Hara. A cover of American Photographer during his first year in business. Stock photography through Getty Images when times were flush. Bad weather and narrow escapes, perseverance and luck.
His mastery is providing a graphic interface between outdoor retailers and dramatic wildness. First, he listens carefully to each client's marketing concepts and then "wraps" their themes and products in a photographic cloak of beauty and inspiration. Recent clients include Patagonia, Mont-bell, Colorado Tourism, Bicycling, National Parks Magazine, Black Diamond Equipment and Elevation Outdoors.
He lives “off-the-grid” with his wife and daughter in a self-built, solar powered home in the foothills of Colorado's San Juan Mountains.
“As the revolving seasons etch deeper lines in my face I begin to better understand the importance of simplicity and craftsmanship,” he reflects, “wilderness is no longer a frontier; it needs complete social integration and universal reverence. Beauty and inspiration is hopefully a first step towards better stewardship!”
